How does the checker know whether a job posting is still open?

JobShifu crawls employer applicant tracking systems and career sites directly and re-sweeps every board. The checker reports the date JobShifu first saw the posting, the last time the crawl found it on the employer's page, and, if the crawl can no longer find it, the date it stopped seeing it. It does not claim to know why an employer removed a role.

Which job URLs can be checked?

Postings on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, iCIMS and Workday, looked up by their posting ID. Paste the URL from the employer's own careers page. Links from LinkedIn, Indeed and other boards are not looked up, because the board's copy is not the source of truth for whether the role is open.

What does 'reposted' mean on the result?

The same employer requisition was listed before, disappeared, and was listed again. The checker shows how many times and the earlier first-seen date. It is often a slow pipeline or an evergreen listing, and it is worth applying with eyes open.

What the result is, and what it is not

It is the crawl's log for that posting. JobShifu reads job postings from the employer's own applicant tracking system, so it holds a first-seen date and a last-seen date for each one, and it notices when the same requisition disappears and comes back. That is what the checker shows.

It is not a verdict on the employer. "Not seen since" means the crawl could not find the posting on the employer's page after that date. Roles are filled, paused, moved to another requisition and reposted for ordinary reasons. The checker states the observation and leaves the inference to you.

How to read the result

Still on the employer's page. The crawl found it there at the time shown. That is the strongest available signal that the role is open.
Not seen since a date. The crawl looked and could not find it after that date. Applying is still possible if the employer keeps the form open, but the listing is gone from the source.
Relisted N×. The same requisition was seen, vanished, and appeared again. Often a slow pipeline or an evergreen posting. Worth applying with eyes open.
Likely active, Aging, Possibly stale. The app's posting-health signal, from age, repost history and whether a pay range is disclosed. A signal, not a verdict.

Which links work

The checker looks a posting up by the ID inside its URL, which is why it needs the employer's own link and not a board's copy. Supported now:

In the index but not yet looked up by URL: Workable, Taleo, SuccessFactors, Eightfold, Phenom, Oracle Recruiting, Personio, Recruitee, Teamtailor and the Amazon, Apple and Meta career sites. Postings from those sources carry the same first-seen and repost history inside the job index; the checker will cover them next.

Board links (LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor) are deliberately not looked up. Their date is the date the board received the listing, and their copy can outlive the original. Open the posting on the employer's page and paste that URL instead.
