JobShifu/JobShifu vs Simplify

Comparison

JobShifu vs Simplify: which fits your applications?

Looking for a Simplify alternative? Start with who you want pressing Submit, and what you want your resume built from.

Both are free Chrome extensions that autofill job applications and track them. Simplify covers more application sites, and its paid plan includes Autopilot, an agent that submits applications for you. JobShifu always stops before Submit, and tailors your resume only from experience you have confirmed.

What Simplify does well

Simplify Copilot autofills applications on more than 100 job boards and application portals, including Workday, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Taleo, Avature, Lever and SmartRecruiters. Its page says autofill, the application tracker, job matches and the basic resume builder stay free, with no limit on how many applications you autofill. Applications you submit through Copilot are saved to its tracker automatically. Read Simplify’s Copilot page.

It also has scale. Simplify’s own site reports 500,000+ Chrome users and a 4.9 rating from 3,600+ reviews on the Chrome Web Store. If broad site coverage is what you need most, that is a real reason to choose it.

Who presses Submit?

This is the clearest difference. Simplify’s help center describes Autopilot as an agent that opens the company’s application, fills it from your profile, tailors your resume if you asked it to, and submits it. Simplify+ includes 20 of those a week. If volume matters most to you, that is a feature.

JobShifu does not offer it. The extension fills the form, attaches the resume you tailored for that job and waits. Fields it cannot identify with confidence are left blank rather than guessed, and demographic questions are never filled from your profile. You read the form and press Submit. What happens at a missing keyword

Both products read the posting and notice requirements your resume does not mention. Simplify’s help center says Simplify+ helps by “incorporating missing keywords naturally”. We have not tested what it writes when the keyword is something you have not done.

JobShifu turns the missing keyword into a question. If you did the work, you confirm it once and it can be cited on this resume and every later one. If you did not, the line is not written and the gap stays visible, so you can decide whether the role is still worth it.

  1. Compare the requirement

See what the posting asks for against the experience you have already recorded.

  2. Confirm what you did

Add the experience you can support. If you have not done the work, leave the gap visible.

  3. Review each change

Every proposed line names the confirmed experience behind it. Approve or reject it before export.

  4. Apply with that version

The autofill attaches the resume you tailored, and the tracker keeps the version you sent.

Which should you try?

Try Simplify if the broadest autofill coverage matters most, or if you want an agent that submits applications for you. Try JobShifu if you want to review every application before it goes, and keep a resume built only from experience you have confirmed.

Both are free to start, so the fair test is one real application in each. Check how many fields each fills on the forms you actually use, and read the resume each produces against your own history.

Common questions

Is JobShifu a Simplify alternative?

Yes, if you want autofill that always stops for your review and resume tailoring that only uses experience you have confirmed. Simplify is worth trying if you want the widest autofill coverage, or an agent that submits applications for you.

Does JobShifu submit applications for me?

No. JobShifu fills the form, attaches the resume you tailored for that job and stops. You check every field and press Submit yourself. There is no auto-apply mode.

Can I use both tools?

Yes. You can keep one extension on for autofill and use the other product for a single task, such as tailoring a resume for one role. Turn off the extension you are not using on a form, so only one of them fills it.

Are JobShifu and Simplify free?

Both have free tiers that include autofill and tracking. JobShifu’s free tier also includes two tailored resumes a day. Paid plans add more AI. Check each product’s pricing page for current limits.
