Set it up

Claude (web or desktop)

Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it JobShifu and paste a server address. In a chat, turn JobShifu on from the tools menu.

Works on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

ChatGPT

Turn on developer mode, then add a custom MCP server under Apps and paste a server address.

Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT plan. On Business and Enterprise workspaces, an admin turns it on. If you don't see it, check your plan's settings.

What it will not do

Submit an application, press Submit on any form, or send a message for you.
Read your profile, your documents or anything you uploaded.
Change anything in your account. Saving a job and tailoring happen in JobShifu, where you see them.

Privacy and access

When you connect, you approve the assistant by name on a JobShifu page, then sign in. The assistant gets its own access, never your JobShifu password or session.
What a tool returns passes to the company that runs your assistant, under that company's terms. See our privacy policy.
Disconnect any assistant in JobShifu Settings, under Privacy. It loses access within about a minute.
Job descriptions are written by employers. JobShifu marks them as employer text in every result.

Limits

Without an account, search returns the first page of results. Tailoring uses the same daily allowance as the JobShifu app.

Questions

Can it apply to jobs for me?

No. It finds and checks jobs and opens tailoring in JobShifu. Applying happens in JobShifu or on the employer's site, where you see every step.

Do I need a JobShifu account?

Not to search. The public address needs no sign-up. Your saved jobs, your plan and tailoring need the account address.

Does it cost anything?

Connecting is free. Tailoring uses your JobShifu plan's allowance, the same as in the app. Your assistant may need a plan that allows custom connectors.

The JobShifu tools don't show up.

In Claude, turn JobShifu on from the tools menu of the chat; tools are on per chat. In ChatGPT, check developer mode is on. If your assistant says the connection expired, disconnect JobShifu in the assistant and connect it again.

How do I stop it?

Remove JobShifu from your assistant's connectors, or disconnect it in JobShifu Settings under Privacy.
